A man bought a lottery ticket at a gas station. US citizen Edwin Castro won $2 billion in the national Powerball lottery.
Last November, Castro bought a Powerball lottery ticket at a gas station in Altadena, and all the numbers turned out to be winning numbers. The winner chose the one-time payment option, and after deducting all taxes, he received $997.6 million. Castro spent the first 2.5% of his winnings on the purchase of a huge mansion in Los Angeles: the man bought a house in the Hollywood Hills for $25.5 million.
This real estate deal was the most expensive of 2023 and one of the most expensive in the area’s history.
The mansion was built last year by Roman James Design. It is located on a hillside and overlooks the Sunset Strip as well as the Chateau Marmont hotel complex.
The three-story house with a roof terrace has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a games room, a wine cellar, a cinema, a bar, a gym, a cold water bath, a steam shower and a sauna.
Nooooo! A trip to Romania would have been better!
