Even after the nerfs, Luke is still seen as a bit of a problem in competitive Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition. Still, the reduction of his health from 1,025 to 1,000 is a change that can potentially help fighters that are capable of killing the 1,000 health opponents with just two combos.

In the week leading up to Evo 2022, NecroSeth has released a video that focuses on this concept. Between combos, Luke will perform an EX invincible reversal, which is always punished as a counter hit or Crush Counter.

It should be noted that not every character combatant in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition’s roster is capable of fulfilling this goal with these variables in play. As a quick example, NecroSeth demonstrated that Chun-Li is one of the characters that cannot achieve 1,000 damage or more with just two combos.

During the video, we see that Cody, Urien, R. Mika, Blanka, Akuma, Seth, Ryu, Sagat, Abigail, Necalli, Ed, Rose, Gill, and Balrog are all capable of pulling off the two-combo kill on Luke. Do keep in mind that this isn’t intended to showcase an exhaustive list of characters that can and cannot do this.

Funnily enough, it’s actually possible for Abigail to perform a two-combo death sequence against Abigail, the fighter with the most survivability in the game (1,075 stamina and 1,050 stun). To pull this off, NecroSeth had to bait out a wakeup Critical Art and delay just enough for optimal damage against the opposing Abigail’s stun gauge.
